I am a retired reading teacher. I love books and reading. I am always happy to talk about the latest good read with anyone I meet.
When I was a kid, my Grandma would take care of my siblings and I in the summers while our parents worked. There was a bookmobile that came through the neighborhood. Grandma always took us to pick out books. We would come back to her house with our treasures and climb her big tree to read for the afternoon. Sometimes she would even bring our lunch out to us and hand it to us up in the tree. It is a great memory for me and it was the inspiration for the name of our little bookmobile.
Hi! I’m Janice.
I have been dreaming of having a bookmobile and traveling around spreading the love of books for many years. When I retired from teaching in 2020, I thought about it more and more. I got lots of encouragement from my very supportive family. Soon the dream became a real possibility.
In November, 2021, my husband and I bought a vintage 1966 Nomad camper. It is adorable and I fell in love with it. We then set on the task of renovating it to serve as a bookmobile. The trailer is finished (well almost) and we have been having a blast taking it out to meet you all.
